We're Nate and Rachel — and we make weird, wonderful places to stay.

We're based in a holler just outside Fayetteville, West Virginia, and we've spent the last few years building some of the most unique short-term rentals in the New River Gorge region. Every property gets a full identity — a theme, a story, and almost always an escape room baked right in.

We're builders, and we obsess over the details. We think your vacation should feel like nothing else you've ever done — not just a nice place to sleep, but somewhere to make real memories.

So far that's meant a Mothman-haunted manor, an 80s time capsule, a wizarding escape house, a game-lover's paradise, and a couple of campers with views that'll make you want to stay forever. And we're not done yet — we have even bigger things in the works for next year.

Appalachian Escapes is a family business, and to us that includes the small, dedicated team who helps us care for every property. We couldn't do it without them.

We love it here, and we hope you will too!
